I blog here to document my progress with iconography. Over ten years ago, I studied the Russian style of iconography with Ksenia Pokrovsky, and painted the bottom five icons here with her.

Recently, I painted an icon on my own of the Archangel Michael. It was always one of my favorite icons. It came out a different from the original. To some, it might appear that I'm using my own innovations, but I'm not. I tried to copy the icon exactly, but due to my own limitations, I can't.

I want to spend my time painting replicas of my favorite icons, so I was overjoyed when my spiritual father gave me a blessing to do so when a local gallery accepted my work.
